Gianni Nanni, born in the enchanting Florence, is an Italian singer who brought his love for Italian music to Delft, South Holland. Since the 90s he has been providing authentic Italian live performances at weddings, events and corporate parties in the Netherlands and Belgium. With only his voice and guitar – fully acoustic or subtly amplified – he creates an intimate atmosphere that touches people.

Italian Language and Culture: Lessons from Gianni Nanni

In addition to his music, Gianni also shares his knowledge and love for the Italian language. He was born and raised in Florence, in the heart of Tuscany – a region known for its clear, polished pronunciation of Italian.

In Florence, Italian is spoken in a particularly pure form. You could compare it to how in the Netherlands Standard Dutch (ABN) is traditionally associated with the Haarlem region. That is also one of my strengths as a teacher: I speak Italian as you hear it on the radio, television and in official teaching methods – clear, correct and easy to understand.

Gianni offers private Italian lessons and also collaborates with the Volksuniversiteit to make his lessons accessible and personal. He adapts the content to the level and interests of his students – from beginners to advanced – and weaves language with culture.

Besides my passion for music, I am an experienced Italian voice-over artist, specialized in bringing characters and stories to life with my voice. Whether it is a film, a commercial, or a documentary series: I offer authentic, characterful voices in Italian, Dutch and English with a unique Italian flair.

My background? I have worked with theatre companies and played a number of comedic roles on stage. In addition, I have contributed to a number of TV productions as an extra with spoken roles at VARA TV and as a voice-over for the casting company KEMNA I voiced ‘the devil’ in a Belgian film. Thanks to this experience, I bring every role to life with convincing accents and a dynamic use of voice, perfect for directors and creatives looking for an authentic Italian touch.
